If I had an acre of land I would
plant an orchard on it. This orchard would have groves of apple trees.
Macintosh and Golden Delicious apples would glimmer in the sun like ornaments
on a Christmas tree. The smell of ripening fruit could fill the air. In the
middle of the orchard I would plant a large oak tree. In the shade of the oak
tree I would cut a clearing out of the long grass. Wicker chairs would be set
up in a circle around a glass and iron tea table. After a long day I would sit
in the chair and watch the sun set over the tops of my beautiful trees and bask
in the fleeting warmth of the sun. As the sun fell beneath the hills I would
look up and see the emerging stars like glowing gems over my acre of groves.
